I have always loved photography. I remember getting my first 110 mm camera when I was probably about 10 years old. It seemed like I've always had a desk drawer with a bunch of old cameras in it... film cameras, point and shoot, a funky panoramic camera, etc. I just loved cameras and I was always the one to read the manual from cover to cover. Fast forward to when I was an adult and my dad and I took a photography class together. What an amazing thing it was to learn how to actually use an slr camera and see the fun stuff it can do. This was back when the world worked in a dark room and used chemicals and paper. Pretty cool stuff.
Things have changed a bit now for me and for photography. Now I am a wife and a busy mom to three cute kiddos. I use my love of photography to hold on to the preciousness of childhood. Luckily my technology has advanced to the world of digital where you can take a ton of pictures on a memory card at 8 frames per second. And while the speed and quality has vastly improved, it's still about capturing that magical moment in time. There's nothing like that amazing smile, a cute smirk or an adorable pose to make you melt. Getting it into a picture is priceless to me. Hence my love of what photography can do to save those precious moments.
